The St. Anthony Hotel Part 2

The. St. Anthony Hotel San Antonio

Thanks for stopping back.  I wanted to share another day with you talking about a beautiful historic hotel located in the heart of San Antonio.  The St. Anthony Hotel.  If you missed the first post you can see it here.

I left off with John Wayne’s room.

Yep, he would stay here, in the same room with every visit.

It is almost like a little apartment situated sweetly in a corner of the hotel on the eighth floor with amazing panoramic views of Travis Park and downtown – now it is dedicated to him.  You can request to stay there too!

I didn’t take too many pictures of the interior, but here are a few for you to see.

Not only is the interior beautiful, but the windows are so large that the views are breathtaking.

what you don’t see in these pictures is the bar on the opposite wall.  It also appears to have an adjoining room – the whole family could stay!

Down the hallway was the bedroom with a  large bathroom, but unfortunately, I did not snap pictures.

The pool was divine…

with plenty of seating.

The bar was not open when I snapped this picture, but there was always water and a snack available.  Love the green apples!  The use of green throughout the hotel gave a fun design element – even with the edible apples.

Every morning I enjoyed our quality time spent on the upper deck terrace – we would head up to have coffee, relax and talk.

It was so beautiful up there!  The terrace overlooked the city, but a view of Travis Park through vintage windows was one of my favorites.

The architecture and impeccable detail delivered to this building in the early 1900’s blows me away.

See all of the windows lining the entire terrace…

just lovely!

Last but not least, there are two bar/restaurants to visit in the hotel.

One is the Haunt…

(sorry for the quality of this pic – it was taken through a window).

and the Rebelle Restaurant…

We actually sat at the bar

and had some pretty yummy beverages!

Oh, and I almost forgot about The St. Anthony Club…

This is where Herb Kelleher and Rollin King began Southwest Airlines jotting an idea down on a napkin.

and breakfast is available in the Loggia Cafe.

This sweet restaurant has a beautiful view of Travis Park.

We didn’t eat here but peeked our head inside and the food looked scrumptious.  Look at the Palladian windows, light fixtures, and a pop of green with the apples.

There are actually so many more areas and tucked away terraces I could share with you, but I guess you will have to visit yourself to soak it all in.  I have not been disappointed with the SPG Luxury Hotel Collection – I want to visit them all!  There are so many beautiful destinations out there…

I hope you enjoyed this tour of the amazing Historical St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio!

Now it’s time to say goodnight…

Let’s explore San Antonio together, shall we?  Head back to see more about our weekend getaway.

Until next time…

Enjoy!

Every. Single. Moment.

Angie
